Located at the outskirts of the bustling and busy city of Cebu, this four-storey dormitory is erected at the peaceful residential village in Consolacion, Cebu. With budget constraints for the low-end dormitory, the clean, white recessed box-like form of the building distinguishes is as a modern stand-alone along the old traditional ones beside it. Green building design is incorporated in the form of using glass jalousie windows which are very efficient for the control of 100% inlet of natural light and wind ventilation, thus ultimately reducing the user's electricity bills. Using a simple continuous exterior paint-groove material effect can easily provide visual appeal and articulation by expressing the physical characteristics of the materials and their texture, resulting in a very cost-effective building construction budget.
