Padajon UAP JACA 2018

Ar. Femi Yu, a member of the UAP Cebu Chapter, was in Bohol, PH this week for the United Architects of the Philippines-Organized Joint Area C Assembly (JACA) , and the main event was the Continuing Professional Development Seminar talk delivered by Arch't. Aurelio. The seminar was about Contracts, and if anything was taken into important consideration from the topic, it would be that a properly prepared legal agreement between owner and architect will clearly communicate a project’s terms and conditions, determine responsibilities of each party and set expectations for schedule and payment for services. It’s the first step toward a successful project.

The UAP JACA Event, held on Feb. 1-3, 2018, not only hosted an important CPD seminar for delegates from all over the Visayas region of the Philippines but also organized a sportsfest, and more significantly, a 1 day tour around the province of Bohol. The tour did its part in educating the architect delegates of the historical and architectural background of Bohol, and its main tourist spots (cue the famous Chocolate Hills and Tarsiers of the Philippines). Indeed, it was an eye-opener for a new found appreciation of the province for most of the delegates.

The tour destinations covered were: - Immaculate Concepcion Church in Baclayon - Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Dauis - Sta. Monica Church in Albur - Ruins of the St. Peter Church in Loboc - LOBOC Cruise w/ buffet lunch - ETA Chocolate Hills - Tarsier Encounter at the Corella Sanctuary

The event ended with a memorable fellowship night.
